In Olomouc, we have quidditch practices usually twice a week. During this autumn season it is on Monday and Wednesday from 5:00 p. m. to about 6:30 p. m. Schedule can slightly differ each week depending on organisation issues, weather conditions and season (we mostly skip practices during winter exam period and summer holiday), so please check our up-to-date information and events on our facebook site. Currently, we are a group of about 15 people aged 16-26 years, mostly students of Palacký University in Olomouc. We play in a pleasing area of Bezručovy sady park beneath the city walls close to the summer house (exact location on a map) and during late autumn and early spring we move to our winter location in the park beneath the St. Vitus cathedral (map). You can join the practises for free and they are open for everyone – both experienced players and newcomers, ass well as for an audience. Also ERASMUS and other exchange students are very welcome. So come to watch us or better come to join us playing 🙂 You need no special equipment nor special sports skills. You’ll enjoy this outdoor activity, have fun and meet many new friends.
What to bring with you:
- some sports clothing (which can potentialy get dirty)
- appropriate shoes (eg. trainers, running shoes, football boots etc.)
- water to drink
We are looking forward seeing you! And don’t forget to bring your friends with you.
If you would like to promote our practises and invite more friends, do not hesitate to use our A3 poster or leaflets (both in english).
For practising quidditch, basic technics together with tactics and drills are described in a British manual QuidditchUK Drill Manual available in PDF. We have also our czech drill quidditch manual called Praktická příručka pro trénink famfrpálu (unfortunately the content is in Czech only).
